MASSE MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN TORONTO BEFORE PARLIAMENT RESUMES

Toronto, ON – Today, Brian Masse M.P. (Windsor West), NDP Innovation, Science, Economic Development and Auto Critic, is in Toronto to consult and meet with the following groups regarding the Urban National Park and Community Benefits:

1. The Wildlands league and Chief Duckworth on the continued effort to protect Ojibway shores, initiate the process to establish a National Urban Park and to fully partner with the Indigenous community in the future management of the National Urban Park.

2. Kumsa Baker and his team at Toronto Community Benefits Network to examine and discuss their Community Benefits agreements that worked for the improvement and increased opportunities for various neighbourhoods. This is a follow up meeting so that the WEBA community benefits for sandwich town are accountable and reach the people who need it.

3. Jim Robb and the Friends of the Rouge Watershed to tour Rouge Urban National and to hear how the management of a National Urban Park should be implemented
