Autoworkers should not be the only ones fighting for Canada’s auto industry

(WINDSOR)- Today, Brian Masse M.P. (Windsor West), NDP Innovation, Science, Economic Development Critic, congratulated Unifor Local 444 President Dave Cassidy and all the members on their on their new contract with Fiat Chrysler which secured a $1.5 billion investment in the Windsor Assembly Plant with a new product and 2000 new jobs.

“This is a victory for the workers that have fought for years to maintain auto production here in Canada. They sacrificed to get significant new investments for the plant, a new product and thousands of new jobs. Autoworkers should not be in this fight alone to secure the industry and Canada’s manufacturing future. We need a national auto policy to return our country to global leader we once were,” Masse stated.
