MASSE ATTENDING NATIONAL GOVERNORS ASSOCATION (NGA) 2022 SUMMER MEETING IN PORTLAND, MAINE

Portland, Maine. – Brian Masse NDP Critic for Innovation, Science and Industry; Auto Strategy; International Trade; Canada/US Border Relations; Great Lakes, is attending the Annual National Governors Association (NGA) summer meeting July 13-15 as part of a three-member bipartisan delegation including Senator Michael MacDonald and MP Mike Lake with the Canada/ United States Inter-Parliamentary Association. The Canadian delegation will join governors, policy experts, business leaders and state staff for their annual summer meeting, which is one of two annual convenings of the NGA.

The National Governors Association is a bipartisan organization representing governors from the 55 states and territories. The annual meetings provide a forum for governors and other state leaders to discuss policy successes and best practices, to engage with experts and leaders from the private sector, and to meet with federal officeholders and Cabinet officials to reinforce relationships and focus state advocacy efforts. Through the NGA, governors identify priority issues and deal with matters of public policy and governance at the state, national and global levels.

This meeting is scheduled over three days and will focus on bipartisan solutions to leading policy issues. Much of the work will focus on issues such as cybersecurity, economic recovery, infrastructure, and youth mental health.
