NDP Critic for Innovation, Science and Industry, MP Brian Masse (Windsor-West), made the following statement:

“As Pierre Poilievre leans on American billionaire, Elon Musk, to mislabel CBC, the NDP is calling out his silence on Tesla’s refusal to be apart of the Canadian Automotive Service Information Standard (CASIS), a voluntary agreement that helps Canadians get the best price for repairing their cars.

CASIS was created to provide a framework for the auto manufacturers to share service and repair information with the automotive aftermarket industry on a level equivalent to information available to authorized dealerships. It allows competition and Canadian consumers the right to have their vehicles repaired at a place of their choice. Tesla refuses to be apart of CASIS, impacting Canadians and small businesses.

If Conservatives actually cared about Canadian consumers, Canadian small businesses, competition and lower prices, their leader should ask his American billionaire friend to get his auto company to provide the information that is needed.”
